Je m'appelle Celine

Here's my attempt at channeling some Spring 2010 Celine...
H&M top, Lacoste skirt, hand-me-down belt.
Celine Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear
I bought this shirt a while ago and this skirt I've had for a really long time (yet another hand-me-down from my mother). The belt you've already seen and heard about, it was my mom's too.
I earnestly believe Phoebe Philo is a genius of modern simplicity and clean-cut elegance.
In Celine Resort 2011, she introduces distinct yet fluid lines with pants made of the most delicate materials in simple colors like black and white. There is something very effortless, almost careless, about the way they hang off the waist yet they still expose a certain structure and shape brought forward by the crisp of the textile. Besides, they seem to be have been made for movement, for a determined walk as these photographs prove which goes to emphasize this notion of fluidity.

The use of colors was more diverse this time around with vibrant hues that were sometimes subtle but mostly presented through a color-blockesque scheme or simply through prints. When it came to colorful pieces, I especially liked the sportswear-chic pants with laces. The yellow one's green laces are more obvious because of the actual pants' attractive color but the white and black ones' (pink and green) are noticed less easily which makes them a whole lot more interesting once spotted. They just appear as details and details, when presented neatly, always add poise to an outfit.

As it was in both most recent Spring and Fall collections, the clash between harsh and soft, leather and silk-like textile, is also very present.

...and the gold jewelry was quite divine though I am starting to tire of these types of gold, smooth-cut bracelets and necklaces that embrace wrists and necks I've been seeing everywhere...
Anyhow, talking about Celine (Celine Spring '10 clogs), I got these Minelli clogs a while back for the meager price of 55 euros.
A Farmer girl was the result of my very first try at matching them up but next time, I think I'll go for something a little less stereotypical, something a bit more modern, something simple, elegant, something Phoebe Philo, perhaps!

Top Ten Lust Items

1.These Proenza Schouler heels
The cool green scaly material, the splash of silver, the curve of the black heel: these shoes are absolutely refreshing. I feel like they are the earth-bound incarnation of an underwater rockstar's stage pumps.

2. A full Chloe pantsuit...
...Because the lines are perfect. Also, the looseness of all three garments along with the kind of square, virile shoulders scream effortless chic, androgynous elegance, poise.

4.A Cheap Monday pair of shorts
I already have these in black denim but they fit so well, I really want to get them in light jean. They just kind of hug your hips and thighs and stop somewhere in between your waist and hipbone, right below your belly button which is extremely comfortable.

This small, cute, 1920s vibe cloche is my new closet must-have.

I saw these when I was out shopping with friends. I've got this thing with round sunglasses so these oval/circular ones really caught my eye.
7.This jacket+ this sweater= my leopard-print joy
I need to see these in more detail but so far, I'm loving the fur collar and overall artsy graphicness of the two pieces.

Beige, black, and white combined in an orderly way. This is just one of those pieces that are timeless and chic and that's why I want it.

9.These Repetto heels
I saw these in green in some magazine but I like them even better in nude. On top of their color being super versatile, they're made of velvet, soft, pretty, velvet. And if that's not enough to convince the parental unit they must be purchased, they make me think of The Velveteen Rabbit, yes, that adorable little story about a melancholy bunny.
